It turns ordinary lockers into smart lockers that can be accessed and managed flexibly, and it works with lockers made from any material, including HPL, laminate and metal.

The best smart locker system depends on three things: who uses the lockers, how they use them, and whether the lockers need to connect to your IT network. The Metra Smart Locking System is available in two main setups, and both can be tailored to your locker users and storage priorities.
Networked Metra Smart Lockers are best for large offices, office buildings, campuses and other integrated environments with many lockers and users. They connect to your IT network and are managed remotely in real time through the MyMetraLockers management software. The software can be installed on-premise or in the cloud, and administrators can sign in with their existing corporate credentials.
Plug & Play (network-free) Metra Smart Lockers, such as Metra Workplace Lockers TOUCH 4 Lite, are best for small and mid-sized offices, or for any site where connecting lockers to the IT network isn’t possible or wanted. They only need an ordinary wall socket, run fully offline, and can be upgraded to a networked system later.
When comparing smart locker systems, consider:
- Access methods. Metra supports RFID cards, fobs and wristbands, PIN codes, mobile apps, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and biometric access such as face recognition.

Metra rental locker solutions support flexible payment methods (credit cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay) and third-party payment providers. Metra Smart Systems can power lockers which are made from all of the above mentioned materials, or combinations of those materials.
It depends on several factors, including the location of the lockers in question, who will use them (employees, random daily guests, etc.), how often, and for what purpose (personal storage, parcel pickups, etc.). Usually, it is a compromise between customisation and durability (HPL and metal are the most durable locker materials, but are also more limited to available customisations and finishes, such as wood/MDF or laminate).

Networked Smart Lockers are typically used in integrated environments, such as large offices, office buildings, campuses, or resorts, to save time and resources when managing (a lot of) lockers and, especially, locker users via the MyMetraLockers management software.
Lockers, equipped with a standalone, “network-free” Metra Smart locking system, only need an ordinary socket. Such standalone, cost-efficient smart locker solutions are perfect if you don’t need to connect to an IT network or manage a large number of lockers and locker users. If that changes, your Plug&Play Metra smart lockers can be upgraded to networked ones to provide you with complete management of lockers and their users.
